NEWS RELEASE

For Immediate Release:

Can That Mennonite Joke blow away the Windy Awards?

The Windy Awards announced its nominations to reveal That Mennonite Joke’s nomination for Best Documentary!   The 2017 Windy Awards will be held Saturday, Feb 25 at 6 pm at the Winnipeg Film Group’s Cinematheque theatre in Winnipeg’s historic Exchange District. The awards honour local Manitoba filmmaking talent with four director and five craft categories.

This light and funny documentary features comedian Matt Falk as he digs into his Mennonite heritage to reveal deep entrenched humour – which he ends up using in his stand-up comedy act.  The film directed by Orlando Braun has been selected in half a dozen festivals across Canada, and will be next appearing in the Freeze Frame International Film Festival in March, 2017.
