Prairie Boys pick up award for Graffiti Stories
Prairie Boy Productions' Jorge Requena and Orlando Braun attended the 2015 Canada International Film Festival [CIFF] this past weekend to receive an award for their recent production.
Their film Graffiti Stories: From Dark Alleys to Bright Futures was selected for the "The Award of Excellence in Filmmaking" in the Best Short Documentary category at CIFF. The festival took place April 11 & 12 at the Georgian Court Hotel and at the Edgeland Casino in Vancouver, BC.
The Prairie Boy team equipped with Dugas-Lavack bowties and winning smiles shared their passion with the patrons of the festival to help place Winnipeg's arts scene on the map. Graffiti Stories stars Ismaila Alfa who shows a side of Winnipeg people rarely think of and it showcases urban youth of many backgrounds, practicing urban arts from Graffiti to Hip Hop in order to create a force for positive change.
